PFF published their 2026 NFL Draft Big Board on Saturday. They have Tennessee CB Jermod McCoy projected as a Top 10 pick coming in at the No. 8 best player.
Jake Merklinger, the Vol’s RS Freshman quarterback agreed to a new contract per On3’s Peke Nakos. With the departure of Nico Iamaleava, Merklinger is the only QB on the roster that has played a snap for Tennessee. The deal includes a boost in compensation, but the specific numbers were not made available. It is reportedly a six-figure deal.
Tennessee transfer defensive back Jakobe Thomas has set visits with Florida State and Miami after officially entering the NCAA Transfer Portal on Monday. Pete Nakos reports those are Thomas’s only visits currently set.
Per On3’s Rob Lewis, Tennessee likes where they sit currently in the NCAA Basketball Portal with Louisiana Tech’s Amaree Abram. The 6’4 guard is ranked as a four star portal player who averaged 12.3 points, 1.7 assists, and 1.5 steals a game his Junior season. Abram signed with Ole Miss out of high school, transferred to Georgia Tech his Sophomore year, and then transferred to LA Tech his Junior year.
The Titans held a press conference on Monday. GM Mike Borgonzi & President of Operations Chad Brinker stated they are going to hold off on announcing their undrafted free agent signings at this time. Brinker said they are “probably not” picking up the fifth year option on Wide Receiver Treylon Burks. Additionally, Borgonzi & Brinker mentioned they never had any plans to trade QB Will Levis during the 2025 Draft.
